   Welcome to the virtual, dis-embodied world of The Many Bodies of Contemporary Dance forum! We are totally buzzed up here that Dublin Dance Festival 2010 is just around the corner and are dusting off our dancing shoes! It has been too long... We love what a democratic art Contemporary Dance is - for all shapes, sizes, abilities, idiosyncracies, and even virtuosos! We want to chew the fat over that in this forum over the next few weeks. Well actually, I suppose the next month. We don't want to have to wait until our fantastic symposium at Dance House on May 19th to get the conversation started. We can start it off among ourselves here, and then let Festival Headliners Raimund Hoghe (Young People, Old Voices), and Tere O'Connor (Day), take it over from us for a few hours. David Bolger, who will be "Swimming With His Mother" and John Scott, who will be performing some "Actions" as well as Girl Jonah's amazing Caroline Bowditch, and dance-writer Mary Kate Connolly will be pitching in on the panel too. What is it that appeals to you about Contemporary Dance? Is it its "Many=bodied"ness? Personally, I can't wait to see Junk Ensembles new piece "Five Ways to Drown", which is opening the festival, and then from there to thread this Many Bodies approach through the whole festival programme. What do you think? Have you ever thought about contemporary dance from this 'many bodied' angle before?
